The Last 5 Years

For Vienna Theatre Project’s concert staging of Jason Robert Brown’s The Last 5 Years, starring Drew Sarich and Ann Mandrella, I developed a campaign built around Andrea Peller’s portraits and a restrained, strong typographic system.

The photographs form the emotional centre: two people whose lives have drifted apart, still held within the same frame. That tension reflects the musical’s structure, which follows a five-year relationship from two opposing chronological directions.

The typography gives the title and cast names clear presence without competing with the portraits. The large “5” becomes both a graphic anchor and a measure of time, carrying the design through poster, flyer and social formats.
